“Midlands Gold”,
the 2011 CTCI Region 5 Convention, hosted by Nebraskaland Thunderbird Club will be held at the Embassy Suites Omaha-LaVista
Hotel and Conference Center, LaVista (Omaha), NE August 24-28, 2011. Two hotels are part of the Center and will be available
for the convention. The Embassy Suites hotel rate is $119 per night which includes a two room suite, a daily hot buffet breakfast,
and a nightly manger’s cocktail reception. The Marriott Courtyard Hotel which is located on the opposite end of the
Conference Center will also be available for $89 per night. The Embassy Suites Omaha-LaVista Hotel and Conference Center is
conveniently located just off I-80 at exit #442 and is part of the new Southport business development. Several types of restaurants
are located within walking distance and the hotels provide shuttle service to shopping.
"Midlands
Gold" will be a celebration of the 50th anniversary of CTCI’s founding. In addition to the judges’ seminar,
concours d’elegance, and awards banquet, the agenda includes a welcome reception, dessert social, a bus tour to the
Durham Museum with lunch in the downtown Old Market, evening casino bus, and the T-Bird driving tour to the Strategic Air
and Space Museum. Deadline to avoid late registration fees and concours deadline is July 25, 2011.
